Frequently Asked Questions

Is my salary data safe?

Absolutely. Salary data is encrypted on your device with a key that never leaves it. Premium cloud backup stores only that encrypted data — we couldn't read it if we wanted to. In hosted meetings, others see only the group total, never your wage.

Can I use Burn Counter without an account?

Yes! The free tier works entirely locally with no account required. You only need an account if you want Premium features like cross-device sync.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards through Stripe.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.

What happens to my data if I cancel Premium?

Your local data stays on your device — it's yours, and the free tier keeps working in full. Cloud backup simply stops syncing at the end of your paid period.

Can my employer see my salary?

No. Individual salary data is encrypted locally on each person's device and never leaves it. In hosted meetings, only the aggregated meeting cost is shared — no one can see what anyone else earns.

How do you verify wage data?

We don't — and that's deliberate. Wages are self-set and encrypted on each person's device, so nobody (including us) can read or audit them. Privacy and verifiability are a trade-off, and we chose privacy: a cost estimate your whole team is comfortable contributing to beats a precise one nobody would share.
